Children copy their parents, maybe we should do the same with God?

Do we read our Bible or do we search it avidly?

I read this excellent short devotional today:
“Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” 1 Peter 5:6-7
Be full of confidence not in yourself or what you can do, but in the Lord and what He can do. Your life, once given to Him, is in His hands, not yours. Live in His strength, not yours. Depend on His resources, not your own.
“Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.” Hebrews 10:35.
How do you cast your care on Him?
Get out your “fishing pole of faith.”
Tie a hook to the line of your fishing pole.
Take all your cares and put them on a hook.
Cast the line as far as you can into the sea of God’s faithfulness.
Cut the line and leave them out there.
Take “I can’t” out of your vocabulary, and replace it with “God can!”

Wow! Thank you so much for sharing my wee ramblings brother. @Berrybunchfamily
Many worldly things claim to be new, but aren't. Only the blessings from God are new each day.

I am truly touched by such a lovely sentiment sister! 🤣🤣🤣
@bethany
Yes very much so. It is used here for Rock Pooling which is a common use for it, but it can also be used as "getting into a guddle" for getting in a muddle or mess. Here is another good Scots word for you: "scunner or scunnered" ! 😁
@bethany
There is nothing more exciting than searching God's Word for Treasures, that bring delight and blessings in life.

Andy B, Teaching Video - What is Reverence?
Is reverence something we need, as Christians, in the current world?
Is reverence a bygone requirement for believers, surpassed by the death & resurrection of Jesus?
Is reverence something we should be bothered about in our churches & families?
Andy B takes a look at something that he has been thinking through, & about, for more than 2 1/2 years; pondering & chewing what he saw as a lack of reverence in so many churches, it seems normal.
But is that normal good? Is that normal right?
What does God say about it?
What can we learn through scripture about the idea of reverence in our modern, fast paced world?
Andy B takes a good look at all of this, & draws some interesting conclusions about reverence, & it’s relevance, or not, in our homes & communities.
