Dear Father, Almighty God,

Let my love be genuine for everyone in heaven and on earth. Help me hate what is evil at all times and everywhere. Help me hold fast to what is good.

May I love my fellow disciples with brotherly affection. May I show them greater honor than they show me.

Let my zeal not cool. May it blaze with energy from your Spirit.

May I rejoice in hope and be patient in tribulation. Let me be constant in prayer. May I contribute liberally to the needs of your holy people. Help me be very hospitable.

And Lord, help me to bless those who persecute me. Help me to bless them, not to curse in return.

In the name and authority of Jesus I boldly come, asking these things according to his will. Amen.

Our Savior, thank you for still being present with us today when we call on your name.

In your name, dear Lord, I ask that you move with power and authority in our world today to open new opportunities for your message to be heard and hearts to be touched.

Pour out your Spirit in fresh ways to anoint and invigorate us, your people, to join you in your mission to save.

Our Father may this be so for your glory, and not our own.
Amen. 🙏

Almighty and glorious God, who lives in eternal light, I praise you for your glory and grace.

I pledge to you, dear Father, that I will not take that grace for granted or trample on its gift.

At the same time, I ask you to empower and lead me with your Holy Spirit to do your will and honor your grace with a life that is holy, and wholly yours.

Through the name of the Lord, I pray. Amen.

Dear Father, dweller of my temple,

Please give me the mind of Christ and make my body a temple of the spirit of holiness which is his.

Make me holy through and through. May my whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless by your power until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I trust you to do this because you are the one who has called me, and you are faithful.

For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
3 While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly... and they will not escape.
~1 Thessalonians 5:2-3

Now I lay me down to sleep,

I pray the Lord my soul to keep.

But if I should die before I wake

I pray the Lord my --

(Die?)

I pray the Lord to reconsider

let me stay, so to say, intact

I have this book to surrender,

a few close friends to contact

let them know my time is thinner

here Lord I have a short list

some things I may have missed

don't think I can finish

before I sleep unblemished

 would you, could you

find room for a delay

that you might consider

another day?

or two--

or maybe three

I have to trim a very large tree

I know asking for four is more

but I could fix a creak in this door

and then I have to explain to the wife

how I let her tropical fish, so adored

depart from this life--

second thought tonight is alright, Lord!

#"A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." Proverbs 17:22

Yep.

~Paul described saving faith in 1 Corinthians 15:1-58 as having these six "most important" principles:

died for our sins according to the Scriptures.

was buried.

was raised from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures.

appeared to many before going back to the Father.

is coming back to bring us home to God with new immortal bodies.

of all of this, our lives are not lived in vain.

~Small wonder this message is known as "the Good News"

The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
~Deuteronomy 29:29

No other option...
No other desire...
No other plan...
No other hope...
All I have is Christ.

“Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? 7 You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
~Genesis 4:6-7

Christ Jesus is the crimson thread of redemption that runs through scripture from Genesis to Revelation, binding it all together.

The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make His face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn His face toward you
and give you peace.
~Numbers 6:24-26

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 10:28

There is nothing uncertain about my acceptance with God, nor about my forgiveness, nor about my sonship. When I realize that I have been brought into God’s plan, I know that nothing can frustrate this.

Do you know why the Pilgrim Fathers made the attempt and succeeded in crossing the Atlantic? What was it that enabled men to do things like that and to do things that were even more hazardous? It was that they believed in what is called “the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints”; it was because they had seen themselves in the plan of God that cannot be broken and that cannot fail. It is as absolute as God Himself; He knows the end as well as the beginning. “Neither shall any man, “ said Christ, “pluck them out of my hand.” It is unthinkable.
~Martyn Lloyd-Jones

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.

25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.

27 God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

28 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
~Acts 17:24-28

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
~Ephesians 2:8-10

Nebuchadnezzar the king to all the peoples, nations, and populations of all languages who live in all the earth: “May your peace be great! 2 I am pleased to declare the signs and miracles that the Most High God has done for me.

3 How great are His signs
And how mighty are His miracles!
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And His dominion is from generation to generation.
~Daniel 4:1-3

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
