At age 16 Patrick was torn by Irish raiders from the villa of his father, Calpurnius, a deacon and minor local official, and carried into slavery in Ireland. He spent six bleak years there as a herdsman, during which he turned with fervour to his faith. Upon dreaming that the ship in which he was to escape was ready, he fled his master and found passage to Britain. There he came near to starvation and suffered a second brief captivity before he was reunited with his family. Thereafter, he may have paid a short visit to the Continent.
Then came the dream.
Utterly confident in the Lord, he journeyed far and wide, baptizing and confirming with untiring zeal. In diplomatic fashion he brought gifts to a kinglet here and a lawgiver there but accepted none from any. On at least one occasion, he was cast into chains. On another, he addressed with lyrical pathos a last farewell to his converts who had been slain or kidnapped by the soldiers of Coroticus.

I hope she finds Christ, a loving relationship with God, the way she portrayed on Punky, the way she actually used to be when she was little Soleil.

I used to videotape my days all the time in the 90's and kept all my diaries, just like Soleil. So I feel some connection in terms of growing up in the same place during the same time, crushing on the same guys, etc. Bouncing around between a bunch of friends (without the drugs).
Soleil had several close friends commit suicide (many of them famous). It isn't until now that she really processed everything that took place 20 + years ago.
Why do I care about a stranger? I care about everyone. But Soleil meant more to me than any other actor. If you never watched Punky Brewster (original 1980's show), and you love and crave wholesomeness and a realistic look at issues through the lens of a good heart, it's the show for you.
I hope Soleil finds peace after opening the vault. It can be so painful to look back at your life and see things you thought were okay actually weren't.

SPOILERS about
Just finished watching Kid90 on Hulu about Soleil Moonfrye. This was really hard to watch. Because my all time favorite show is Punky Brewster (original 1980's show) and because I remember Soleil preaching against drugs, actually seeing her doing drugs, including drinking, was painful. I never heard about her in Hollywood, so much of what she looks back on came as a shock to me. Soleil had/has a potty mouth, for one. She also didn't value herself back in the 90's. It hurt to watch her float around searching for happiness, thinking she had it, and not really finding it. She doesn't mention the perp, but she was raped by someone she loved and trusted.
It was nice to see some of the famous actors she hung out with, especially David Arquette and Brian Austen Green. Both men seem so genuine, kind, and down to earth.
I just learned Soleil and her husband are divorcing after 22 years. This just makes me sadder.

Nearly 18 years since I last saw this. Showed the whole family tonight. LOVED it more than the first time.

"We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone"

Please pray an emergency prayer for my Grandpa Jerry Franklin and my family. I don't know anything yet, just that my mom is doing CPR on him right now

"Everyone gets beat up in this world. Trust me. No exceptions. No, that pretty girl doesn’t have it made; nor does that rich guy. All get knocked around. The strongest do not hit back with force but stand up against the enemy by simply refusing to allow the enemy’s behavior to control your emotions. Staying positive in a sea of venom isn’t always possible, but find your way back to that place as soon as possible. Anger eats away at the one who is angry, not at the enemy."--Deborah Voorhees
