> Psalms 46:1-3, 7 π
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
The LORD of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
> Lamentations 2:14,17 π
> Your prophets have seen vain and foolish things for you:
and they have not discovered your iniquity,
to turn away your captivity;
but have seen for you false burdens and causes of banishment.
> The LORD has done that which he had devised;
he has fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old:
he has thrown down, and has not pitied:
and he has caused your enemy to rejoice over you,
he has set up the horn of your adversaries.
> Jeremiah 51:6,7 π
> Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul:
be not cut off in her iniquity;
for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance;
he will render unto her a recompence.
> Babylon has been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken:
the nations have drunken of her wine;
therefore the nations are mad.
Revelation 18:5 π
> For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
> Jonah 3:5, 10 π
> So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
> And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
> Jeremiah 2:11-13 π
Has a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods?
but my people have changed their glory for that which does not profit.
Be astonished, O all of you heavens, at this,
and be horribly afraid, be all of you very desolate, says the LORD.
For my people have committed two evils;
they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters,
and hewed them out cisterns,
broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
> Isaiah 47:8-10 π
> Now therefore hear this, you who are given to pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart,
> 'I am, and there is none else besides me;
I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:'
> but these two things shall come to you in a moment in one day,
the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come on you, in the multitude of your sorceries, and the great abundance of your enchantments.
> Isaiah 29:13. π
And the Lord said,
Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth and honor Me with their lips but remove their hearts and minds far from Me,
and their fear and reverence for Me are a commandment of men
that is learned by repetition [without any thought as to the meaning],
> 2 Chronicles 16:9 π
> Certainly the Lord watches the whole earth carefully and is ready to strengthen those who are devoted to him.
You have acted foolishly in this matter;
from now on you will have war.
> Micah 7:18-19 π
There is no other God like you!
You forgive sin and pardon the rebellion of those who remain among your people.
You do not remain angry forever, but delight in showing loyal love.
You will once again have mercy on us;
you will conquer our evil deeds;
you will hurl our sins into the depths of the sea.
There is a kind of man
> Proverbs 30:11-14
There is a kind of man who curses his father
And does not bless his mother.
There is a kind who is pure in his own eyes,
Yet is not washed from his filthiness.
There is a kindβoh how lofty are his eyes!
And his eyelids are raised in arrogance.
There is a kind of man whose teeth are like swords
And his jaw teeth like knives,
To devour the afflicted from the earth
And the needy from among men.
> Psalms 119:105, 107, 129-130, 133 π
Your word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.
I am afflicted very much:
restore life in me, O LORD, according unto your word.
Your testimonies are wonderful:
therefore does my soul keep them.
The entrance of your words gives light;
it gives understanding unto the simple.
Order my steps in your word:
and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
> Psalms 119:18-20, 37, 40 π
Open my eyes so I can truly see the marvelous things in your law!
I am like a foreigner in this land.
Do not hide your commands from me!
I desperately long to know your regulations at all times.
Turn my eyes away from what is worthless! πΊ
Revive me with your word! π
Look, I long for your precepts.
Revive me with your deliverance!
> Psalms 103:2-6 π
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgives all of your iniquities;
who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from destruction;
who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfies your mouth with good things;
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
The LORD executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
> Psalms 101:1-4 π
I will sing of loving kindness and justice.
To you, Yahweh, I will sing praises.
I will be careful to live a blameless life.
When will you come to me?
I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.
I will set no vile thing before my eyes. π
π€³ ποΈποΈ πΊ
I hate the deeds of faithless men.
They will not cling to me.
A perverse heart will be far from me.
I will have nothing to do with evil.
> Psalms 94:1-3, 16, 21. π
O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs;
O God, to whom vengeance belongs, show yourself.
Lift up yourself, you judge of the earth:
render a reward to the proud.
LORD, how long shall the wicked,
how long shall the wicked triumph?
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?
or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
> Psalms 89:1, 6,7,14 π
I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever:
with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations.
For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD?
who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints,
and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.
Justice and judgment are the habitation of your throne:
mercy and truth shall go before your face.
> Psalms 86:7-11 π
In the day of my trouble I will call upon you:
for you will answer me.
Among the gods there is none like unto you,
O Lord; neither are there any works like unto your works.
All nations whom you have made shall come and worship before you,
O Lord; and shall glorify your name.
For you are great, and do wondrous things:
you are God alone.
Teach me your way, O LORD;
I will walk in your truth:
unite my heart to fear your name.
> Psalms 84:1-2, 10-11 π
How lovely are your tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
My soul longs, yea, even faints for the courts of the LORD:
my heart and my flesh cries out for the living God.
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand.
I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
> Psalms 78:25, 32-35 π
Man ate the bread of angels.
He sent them food to the full.
For all this they still sinned,
and didnβt believe in his wondrous works.
Therefore he consumed their days in vanity,
and their years in terror.
When he killed them, then they inquired after him.
They returned and sought God earnestly.
They remembered that God was their rock,
the Most High God, their redeemer.
> Psalms 75:1, 6-7, 9-10 π
We give thanks to you, God.
We give thanks, for your Name is near.
Men tell about your wondrous works.
For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation.
But God is the judge.
He puts down one, and lifts up another.
But I will declare this forever:
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.
