I had 'heard' that Zoom is owned and monitored by the Chinese Communist government. So I refuse to participate in any webinar, etc., using Zoom. But my grandchildren have their home education on Zoom and many Christian organizations use Zoom for meetings. What's the truth about who owns and monitors Zoom???

@andrii It's now Oct. 2022 and I'm looking to use jitsi for chatting with a friend using my laptop which has a webcam and sound. Is jitsi still active and available?
@andrii Thank you for the tip. I'll investigate it. I noticed that the internet ending is .io which means British Indian Ocean. Does that mean the owners are located there?
