So thankful for all of you that are supporting Light and what we are doing here in Kurdistan! The sense of joy that comes with being a part of such phenomenal people who are trying to overcome so many obstacles. The Dream Language Institute is in a northern town, north of Mosul, called Dohuk. The school is run by an American named Barbara Davis White, who set up the school a few years ago to provide language training and opportunities to those hit hardest by ISIS.
Women from all over the area flock to the dream Center for a chance to learn English, and she receives them with open arms. Not only does she provide language training, but she coaches them through life so that they can make better choices
Remind students that one of the central missions of the university, which justifies its existence, is to get at the truth. That requires honest debate, patience, intellectual honesty, investigation, and a lot of hard work. But it also is not for the faint of heart. And that is a lesson that is almost never transmitted today. That offense, bruising thoughts, and unpleasant facts simply go with the territory. They are an intrinsic feature of an open society, and they never can be entirely avoided.
We welcomed J28 members in helping us. They have put out an awesome video. Come take a look.
