Ultimately the worst evil is that which pretends to be good but has no intention of submitting to God. Inevitably, it’s those odd little corners where they stop listening to God that become sharp and began cutting up the people they claim to want to help. Why is God not sending down prophets to speak truth to power? But who says He is not? The prophets job is truth to power not truth to all people? With all the voices clamoring for attention today, who could tell who the real prophets were anyway? The enemy would just get two or three guys to say similar things and pollute the message. Until God really wants the peoples attention. Until it’s time for power to pay for despoiling the people God allowed them to serve. Then a prophet will be heard above the noise, a plain message to the people made undeniable by the power of God’s witness.
