Just remember, in the times of the preflood world the saints were outnumbered but it's only the righteous who survived. In the time of Israel entering into Egypt, Gids people were persecuted and under a tyrannical government but God with a mighty hand overthrow that government. During the early church an entire Roman empire declared war on Christianity and the church overcame because though all hell should stand against us we shall prevail. The story of Esther reveals an entire world plot to destroy Hods people through wicked men (sound familiar) but Gods people overcame as they fasted and prayed. And the victory was great. No doubt the plot against Gods people is here, and whether like the Israelites we are enslaved or persecuted or put to death and though many fall away, no plot of the devil succeeded. It may be very hard times, no doubt but in Christ we have all Gods truth and promises to learn on. HALLELUJAH!
1) Jesus promised joy and persecution.
It's easy to meditate on all positive promises and forget all the other promises like, the world will hate you. As Christian's we need to prepare for, and discipline ourselves not because we might be persecuted but because we are commanded to anyways. All Gods promises are completely true in the midst of hardship. I want to know this not in doctrine only but in experience. I want to be in a place of hardship and experience all his promises! Whose with me.
Paul tells timothy to pay close attention to your teaching and to yourself, for if you do so you will save both yourself and your hearers. Study and know the scriptures and watch yourself closely to make sure your life conforms to the scriptures standard of godliness. The victory or lack of victory of this is the difference between heaven and hell!
If anyone is burdened he should pray, if you watched the news too long and your spirit is quenched then you ought to go to a private place and lift yout hands to God and pray. When we can pray in spirit and pour out our hearts to God with self-control of a focused mind, then we experience the true presence of the Lord. Our soul is quieted and God gives us a peace and joy beyond our understanding. All praise to God.
The world as it is today, is why we need to study prophecy. God did not give us prophecy to scare us but to warn us. When one studies all of the prophecies in the scripture and puts them together, it is clear everything is happening as predicted. So we are not confused but we can start piecing the events of the world and see where they fall under prophecy
Warning,: the early church fathers warned us that the first book of enoch was real and good but the 2 and 3 are gnostic works. And in the first book it seems the the gnostics did add some of their teachings in the book. The translation by ken johnson italics the gnostic portion so that you know. Otherwise it's great. enoch prophesied a timeline of Israel's second return and that the reign of Christ will start 6000 years after creation. Israel should have 23 prime ministers with 58 terms.
Good books to read beside the bible.
1) book of enoch, prophesied about major events up to the end of the world, all of which has come true.
2) book of jashar mentioned twice in scripture
3) jubilees, written at the same time as the 10 commandments were given.
4) testiments of the patriarchs by Ken johnson. This book records the prophecies and last sayings of the patriarchs whichbinlude all 12 of Jacob's sons.
Hi, I’m new, first time on here. My real name is not Justin but I like Justin martyr. I’m a Christian: I believe Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross, he is God, the Messiah who was prophesied by the Old Testament, and that he rose again the third day as scripture predicted. Is anyone out there ?
