The ozone habitable zone of a planet is where an ozone shield can form. Ozone in earth’s stratosphere absorbs up to 99% of life-damaging UV radiation. The troposphere must have 10% of ozone of stratosphere. Other necessities are: 1) quantity of oxygen, 2) just-right UV radiation (star mass and apparent age), and 3) low variability of #2.
