I run Linux Mint on old machines just fine.
The latest one is a Xseries Thinkpad released in 20O8.

I got it VERY cheap - $66 free shiping!

Linux Mint is free, as are many other Linux distros.
Very easy to install with YT videos on many laptops/desktops.

It isn't spying on me 👁️👁️.
No embedded AI is there to " assist" me.
