It would be fully possible to ski downhills, but the last day the lift was working was a week ago. My husband has been cross-country skiing 60 kilometers this week. That's crazy, since the tracks aren't in their best shape anymore, and the longest track is 5 km. I was walking up these stairs, that are between two slopes. That's very efficient and hard for the legs. I'm glad the roads are free from snow, so I can bike again. Many Scandinavians bike all year round with winter tyres. But after I fell and hit my head at 20 (no helmet back then), I stopped biking on icy roads.
These paintings by a young woman, with the account Salt & Gold collection, on Instagram, made me cry, and I am still. Foot washing is such a powerful demonstration of God's love and mercy towards humanity. John 3:16. I can't fathom it. I grew up in church with the lack of love a sensitive heart would have needed, and lots of legalism. But the Lord has softened my heart, and over and over again I need to be reminded that God is love (according to His definition of love. Not our own sinful definitions).

The Finnish archipelago is unique and a tourist attraction - you find at least 180,000 islands in Finland (220,000 according to Wikipedia. 88,000 of them are amid the 188,000 lakes - the rest in the sea. If you open the article, and then click "the Kvarken archipelago" you find the archipelago outside of the coast where I live. In my opinion, it's not as beautiful as the archipelago in southern Finland, but what makes Kvarken archipelago unique, and a UNESCO world heritage, is that the land is rising at the rate of 8-9 millimeters per year, which is around 1 square kilometer of new land area every year (there are areas in our world that are sinking).
