I have a question: "Who has that title today"? "The pope". So Pope Francis is "Pontifex Maximus", which means he has the FULL TITLE AND POWER that was granted by Attalus to the Romans, which were first appropriated by Julius Caesar, from thence onwards all the Roman Emperors were called 'Caesar', taking it from his name, and they were "gods". They had to be worshipped as "gods", and temples were constructed where the people had to worship their "god", who was CAESAR. That's history. IT'S STRANGER THAN - FICTION."
