Paul to Titus:

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to MAINTAIN GOOD WORKS. These things are good and profitable unto men.
9 But AVOID FOOLISH QUESTIONS, and GENEALOGIES, and CONTENTIONS, and STRIVINGS ABOUT THE LAW; for they are unprofitable and vain.” (Titus 3:8-9, capitalisation mine).

I find this challenging: What are the 'good works' God would have me concentrate & be consistent with today?

@GoodToughStuff Good works:
It somewhere says God lays them out before you, that you should walk in them. I guess, there is a great variety and we'll know when the opportunity comes.
Peoples character and expertise differ. So probably do their works...

Important to me lately is that we don't do them in order to get righteous, but because we already are.

Grace is so humbling!

@erdenpilger you are so right. I 100% agree. As I read the scriptures, there are two godly types of righteousness, and they are vitally different. One is our righteousness towards God. This is what you refer to. It is central to salvation.

The second (to which Titus refers in my original Ding) is impossible without the first, and should flow out as a fruit from the first, as outward evidence of it. This is behavioural & heart righteousness, otherwise known as sanctification or good works.
