Many of us are housing evacuees as these people have either lost everything or just are waiting for word if their house is still standing.
Another dry lightening storm is scheduled for today, 8/23.
@Chimneysweepwife Debbie is it a lightening storm or a supposed one. Lightening storms in August is rare. I looked at the wx for the next 3 days for various areas out there and it's sunny with very little winds except for the area we were from in the mountains and it is to be a possible thunderstorm which does occasionally happen. I don't remember ever having a thunderstorm in the Sacramento to Sonoma area in August in all my years.
@Chimneysweepwife Yes, the mountains (Tuolumne is next to Sonora - we shopped in Sonora) we had summer thunderstorms and 'dry lightening strikes', but that's not everywhere in the Central Valley.
@KarMarJo57 I know. I did have a friend get caught in a fire up by Sonora about 20 years ago due to lightening. She lost everything.
