Faith is something we do.

I believe I should get more exercise, but often fail to do so.

Paul clarifies this understanding of faith when he writes: “whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” (Romans 14:23). We expect him to say “whatsoever is not of faith is unbelief.” But for Paul the opposite of faith is sin because his understanding of faith includes obedience.
