The German government is burning 800 million covid masks for heat, after spending $5.9 billion on the masks. They call it "thermal recycling" but it's really just burning trash.

Meanwhile, the Polish government has suspended air quality rules to allow their citizens to burn actual trash and coal for heat all winter, since the air rules are suspended through April of 2023.

So Germany is burning trash, and Poland is burning trash, while abandoning any semblance of being "green" or environmentally friendly.

I think I'm finally beginning to understand the origins of the term "Eurotrash."
