The Australian Government is standing up to Facebook and Google demanding they pay for news like any other subscriber. These companies, along with other big American companies operating internationally like Apple and Amazon pay no tax or minimal tax by offshoring their profits, providing no help to the countries they accept money from.
Today I read Psalm 72, a prayer for the King.
Please help, the king to be honest and fair just like you our God. Let him be honest and fair with all your people especially the poor. Let peace and justice rule every mountain and hill. Let the king defend the poor, rescue the homeless and crush everyone who hurts them.

I am currently reading Streams of Living Water by Richard Foster. It looks at different movements over time and their role in Christianity. It is also a reminder that when a new movement comes people go on bandwagons, get distracted, and forget the importance of previous movements.

One of the most misused verses in scripture is Hebrews 13:5 where only the second part of the verse is quoted. The Lord will not leave us nor desert us. It is not about eternal salvation at all. It is about God’s material provision. The first part says- Don’t fall in love with money. Be satisfied with what you have.

Apparently in Taiwan Xi Jinping is nicknamed Pooh Bear, because of his looks 😂😂😂

I need to think of good questions to ask that will lead to this cognitive dissonance which makes people rethink what they believe.

A mission group I am part discussed the idea if “cognitive dissonance”, where two competing beliefs cannot both be true.
So I am wondering how this applies to atheists and muslims, and even nominal christians. For example, for atheists there is no God. But morality must come from somewhere.
Fro Muslims, they are taught that christians are all immoral. But I am christian and not immoral. The Quran says Jesus did not die on the cross. But some muslims have a dream with Jesus on the cross.

I work with these people in my city. Many are quite damaged. But I am privileged to hear many stories of people come to faith in Jesus, mostly from Muslim backgrounds. I did not get these from a book, i was told them face to face. God works wonders in adversity in various ways still today. Some of these involved a dream or vision of Jesus.

In 2013 Australia sent thousands on them to remote places in the Pacific, Nauru and Manus Island. Some are still there.

Many have been sent to the USA due to a deal with Obama. I hope you guys from the US look after them if you come across them. Hundreds remain in Community detention in Australia, not allowed to work.

Australia has treated refugees who arrived by boat here very badly.

Despite the many verses in scripture that teach us to look after the stranger in the land, many church people do not follow the teachings and despise these humans, some of whom fled their middle eastern countries because of their christian faith.

I have been praying for North Korea for decades. I remember at the millenium turn hoping it would be that year. But change still has not happened. Prior to that i had a verse of scripture given and my interpretation of that was tnat God was ready but there had not been enough prayer.
More recently i have had pictures given on an insect being eaten from.inside by a parasite,. My interpretation: North Korea will fall from internal factors, not from outside intervention. Let’s see..
