The Gospel of the Kingdom is much more relevant than a message merely about going to Heaven when we die:

Sex trafficking
Abortion
A Fatherless Generation
Spiritual bondage

These are issues for the Church to address because we have the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Jesus is King, satan lost. We must tell the world and we must live as though these things are true.

Lies don’t win.
Devils lose power.
The fatherless find a home.
The captives are set free.

When Jesus preached “the Gospel,” it sounded like this:

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed...”
Luke 4:18

Jesus also said, “As the Father sent Me into the world, so I send you.” John 20:21

The Spirit of the Lord was on Jesus.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon you.

We have all that we need to move mountains.

Revival or Revolution?

College campuses are not happy places. The unrest and anger will make you shudder. The language of revolution is in the air and on the posters. But all is not well with the revolution. A counter-revolution is also underway. At Kennesaw State University, I believe that I sensed an undercurrent of hunger for truth, hope, and love. The college students crave love and healing much more than they crave chaos and anger. Strangers in the form of professors, politicians, and media try to whip college students into a frenzy and I think they are worn out from chasing the wind. I sense a receptiveness to hope, healing and truth.

When YouTube adds a banner to your video for "context", you know that you have just touched a golden cow.

Lord Jesus,

How faithful you are! You are good even when we are not!

In these days of instability, help us remember that You are the God who "makes a way through the sea, and a path through the mighty waters." (Isaiah 43:1). You are the God who delivered Israel from tyrants when they were unarmed and enslaved. You fed them in the desert when there was no supply chain. You gave them water from a rock when their resources dried up. You are the God who "makes wars to cease to the end of the earth." (Psalm 46:9). And You command us to "Cease striving and know that I am God;" (Psalm 46:10).

Today, Jesus, we give You our worries and fears. We give You our anger. We give you our future. We rest in Your promises, especially that You will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). We claim the attitude of the righteous man in Psalm 112 who "does not fear bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD."

Command victories for Jacob (Your children), O Lord! (Psalm 44:4).

After my family and I visited Bethel, as you might expect, we got several emails and comments with accusations and strong criticisms for their ministry. Because of those emails and comments, I started listening to Bethel's own podcast where they address these issue. I found it very helpful and straightforward. It's worth a listen. I have enjoyed it a lot and have been encouraged by it.

“A disciple is one who says to Christ, ‘How I long to do work like Yours! To go from place to place taking away fear; bringing instead joy, truth, comfort, and life eternal!’” —Richard Wurmbrand

“As the Father sent me into the world, so I send you.” —Jesus (John 20:21)

The agenda of Jesus to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons, is the agenda of disciples of Christ.
Therefore, today promises excitement.

Lord, what will you do with me today? Take me where You will!

The Gospel is good news, not good advice. News is about something new that has happened. Philosophy is about how the world works, which may be true since the dawn of time. The Gospel is news, not philosophy. Literally speaking, what in the world happened when Jesus began to announce the Gospel? What is true about the world, post-Jesus, that wasn’t true about the world pre-Jesus?

We had the privilege of meeting Troy and his wife Leslie and their beautiful family on our recent ministry trip. I have great respect for Troy and his stewarding of God's prophetic gift in his life. This is a very good word and it resonates with me. It will both challenge and encourage you today.
