@Asianking sometimes I read spiritual poems - I love them; sometimes I listen to music (orchestra, christian choirs, old hymns); if it's bad, earnest prayer is the only thing I can recommend. Tell Him how wretched you are and He usually strengthens you with His greatness 🙂

This is not so much about missionary's discouragement, but might also help.
