Read Tortured for Christ by Richard Wurmbrand. After learning about the type of Juche communism in NK it’s amazing to read this original take on the earliest form of Christian persecution from communists.

“Communism is demonic”, is common to hear, but I often feel when people say “demonic” they aren’t really being literal. It’s more like they’re using the word to get the point across that it’s just evil &wrong in the worst immoral way.

This is what Wurmbrand says:

@sinbach I just finished listening to Nicky on your podcast. The story of Sheila is heart wrenching. I’m glad that she was able to get out of that horrible situation in the prison before she passed away.
Human trafficking is on an exponential rise. In some places in the world it seems it has normalized into the cultures. The Chinese and North Korea border and how women defecting are often bought and sold as wives to Chinese farmers is one example of this. It happens so frequently.

Sometime in the seventies Billy Graham went to Seoul, South Korea and there were nearly a million people that physically went to see him.
Billy talks about that with Johnny Carson in his show. You can see the pictures for yourself.

I can’t help but wonder if that many people would show up for anything these days. Even pre pandemic times, I doubt most people would make the time even if it was free secular live entertainment. And even if ten percent of that million showed up for anything the likelihood that there would be civil unrest of one form or another would be through the roof.

I truly believe we are living in another time. I believe that WHEN our next revival hits Earth it will start with the youth and it will start live online. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Chinese, Iranian, & North Korean Christian hackers start it from somewhere underground. I just hope I’ll be around to see it and be a part of it when it goes viral.

I hope everyone watches this. It is super encouraging. This is the girl that was on AGT when Simon Cowell hit the golden buzzer. She has wisdom one liners that will pull your heart strings and make you say woah. Here is one she said to Simon right before he hit the buzzer:

After reading so many stories about North Koreans defecting their fatherland I got my hands on a book that turns the tables on the whole idea of defecting North Korea. This guy was a Sargent in the US army in South Korea. He was afraid he was going to get hauled off to the Vietnam war in 1965. So he went AWOL and walked across the DMZ into North Korea thinking he would eventually be let loose to the Soviets and then let go for home in the US. Instead he was captured and did not leave for 40 years. Eventually after four decades of the weirdest life you could never imagine, he managed to survive and leave North Korea of his own volition. His story is the weirdest I’ve heard of in North Korea.
This book left me thinking of more questions about North Korea and it’s system of communism. After reading Escape from Camp 14 to now reading this, I’m convinced that the North Korean regime must actually hate their own people more than they hate Americans who they preach are their arch nemesis.

I recently watched this film Silence. It just reminded me of the need for a spiritual relationship with Christ. So many put their hope in the body and their community. But if Christ is God as the Bible says, as Christ said, “ before Abraham was I AM”, then we must come to the conclusion that Christ is also spirit within us. It must be our hope in Him alone that carries us through the harshest of suffering. I am alive in His Spirit, born again not of flesh, but of the Holy Spirit. Eternal life is for those born of the Spirit with the body. Everlasting life is first spiritual and then in the twinkling of an eye we are restored.
