I think the point of the video is that a lot of people feel overwhelmed looking at the situation so he says that our focus should be in the God that lives inside of us and not in the reality of this world. You are right, whatever Lord give us as a reward it will be gratefully accepted, but I think we don't have to accept defeat as our normal when we have a victorious King that wants to save, heal and deliver.
