@Knittinggrace you are free to believe and speak as you like, but pls be careful in bending the bible to fit a religious spirit that makes up rules that do not exist. I have enough failures to ask for forgiveness of without you adding to the rule book. maybe you would do good to go back two verses to verse 34 of Matthew 12 that you quoted where Jesus calls them "You brood of vipers!" is this good language?

oh I'm sure you will certainly explain it to fit your paradigm,
but let me help you.... this is the language of a carpenter no matter how you try to convince yourself. This was not the language of a clergymen. The Pharisees that Jesus was speaking to in this chapter had accused Jesus of being of the same spirit He was casting out. Their language was not the problem. they used the kind of language that you would have been happy with, I am sure, but Jesus was not.

it was the substance of their language that made it deplorable. The pharisees used proper language that would have made you happy and content. but Jesus, no Jesus used the kind of language that would have been familiar to carpenters, fishermen, and the rowdy sort - not the educated elite that look down on such common low brow language.

I will take my lumps when I misunderstand scripture, and I personally try to use words that make people like you happy. Let's remember it's not my language you have a problem with, it's someone else. you want me to condemn someone because the language they use YOU believe is inappropriate and then you twist scripture to justify it? personally, I try not to judge others when they use strong language and i certainly try not to distort the bible to do it.
