@Hobo do you wear a coat when it is cold? Is warm clothing a top necessity? so imagine being told to sell it for a sword. (Luke 22:36). Peter did and so have I - a modern day sword. "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel"
As a husband and father, I am to provide food, shelter, and protection for my family. feel free to live by your own convictions. I will live by mine.
@sinbach hi friend.
Infidel - one who is not a Christian or who opposes Christianity.
Short story about myself: God took my children away from me, and told me not to fight for them. Told me to trust in his plan.
My old friend quoted that same verse to me when I told him I was going to leave it into God's hand.
I had the option to fight for the custody of my children, and I probably would have won.. but rather than taking things into my own hands, I surrendered to Gods will and put all my trust in him.
Hardest thing I've ever had to do in my entire life. Still don't understand God's plan.
But I experienced a full washing of the holy spirit when I surrendered and said "I trust you Jesus"
We are creatures of free will and we either do the will of God, or our own will.
I just question the necessity for such a weapon.
Anyway, I'm not trying to argue with.
Sorry if I came across as rude or insulting.
God bless you brother🙏
