@PrestonBrooks do I think it is unethical to ask civilians to do missionary in Iraq is your question? Perhaps it is more unethical to wait for a place to be safe enough to take the Gospel. Maybe it is more unethical to tell God that you will only take the Gospel to a places where the Gospel has already been before - like Belize. Perhaps it is unethical to condemn those that are going because you believe that you shouldn't go. I am still looking for the scripture that says that we are to complete the Great Commission - but only in safe places. I have been persuaded that it is NOT free nations that pave the way for the Gospel, it is the Gospel that gives birth to free nations. Perhaps what Iraq needs more now more than ever - is NOT more bombs - but Bibles, NOT more soldiers - but missionaries.
You are free to call me unethical for this belief, but forgive me if I dot it anyway.
And the great news? My invitation to join me in Iraq is not an obligation. It an opportunity!
