Now, apply this to God's word. Is God's law a tradition or has it been given for our benefit and safety? Can we just disobey God's law because we want? What happens to lawbreakers in your country? They are punished, right? It is the same with God's word.
Can we remove or change the laws of our land? NO! Again, can we do that to the laws that were created by one so much more powerful?
Have you heard of the kingdom of God? Did you know that it is real? Lets compare an earthly kingdom to the kingdom of God
Earthly kingdom - kingdom of God
Has a King - has a King
Has citizens - has citizens (Christians)
Has laws - Has laws too (the entire Bible including the Law)
Has land for a kingdom - His land is wherever his people are.
Do you get it? Unless God has specifically said he changed it can we change it?
How about food laws? The law of God says we should not eat unclean animals or humans but lets say you are hungry and you decide to eat a wild dog. Would you do it? What about a native cannibalistic native people group that you tell that the food laws don't matter then if you go to visit, and they offer you food with human meat because this man died in a hunting accident. What would you do? Aren't you confusing them?
I think not. God changed the law in regard for a sacrifice and gave us the final sacrifice which we should use.
As God's kingdom is not physical thus we (as his peaceful citizens) should not kill for capital punishment, not to mention, the government is the only one who is given authority to kill to such a measure. To add to this, we are to not take part in our earthly governments so this is another reason we should not kill that we can remain blameless and spotless.
