These Ukrainian Christians are my heroes. Most people would be scared to death if they would be in the same situation - in between two Russian frontlines. They don't deny reality (they are in contact with the military). And they don't deny the Biblical reality.

If you don't have symptoms but think you are sick, you are called hypochondriac - something they have tried to make all of us lately.

Today I read about a moral scandal by the founder and leader of one of the most famous denominations in our world. I won't mention his name, because this post is not about it - but it's just an example that strong hierarchies, control, titles or fame etc. can't protect anybody from sinning. A strong relationship with Jesus Christ himself is the best protection. Some say that you can't control people, and make sure they don't fall into sin or heresies in non-hierachical churches, like but there is no Biblical proof for that idea. If Jesus Christ is the head of His Church (instead of a dominant leader), and Lord of our lives, things will fall into place. The book Reimagining Church by Frank Viola, focuses a lot on what the Bible says about leadership. A leader serves the people. The most common picture of the ekklesia is family (sisters, brothers), and leadership is being fathers and mothers.

Still a lot of snow left, even if the temperature is on the melting side. People are still skiing in my village. Feels more like springtime in the city (9 kilometers from home). They even arranged a downhill competition for children today.

Gas prices at our nearest gas station, in euros per liter. Never ever been this high in Finland befire, and they predict it will rise to 3 euros/liter. Diesel use to be the cheapest, but now it's the most expensive fuel. But I suppose we have the same problem all over the world.

I'm having my first outdoor job lunch this year. It's +5°C and the sun is shining, so why not. You see snow piles if you open the picture. (I love food and would gain weight, if I wouldn't restrict my carbs intake. This is a green salad with beef).

My husband took these pictures of polar lights (aurora borealis) in our garden tonight.

The brutal art of early Soviet antireligious propaganda posters, 1920-1940
"The magazine actively denounced all religions, hence, rabbis and priests were a basic target for attacking. Often accusing them of collaborating with the rich, as well as the counter-revolutionaries, they were blamed for corruption, laziness, and as a tool used by the rich to control the masses."

I'm participating in a course this weekend about boating and navigating, together with other scout leaders and scouts. We have been given an old motorboat, so we need to get certificates to use it. The sea is still frozen, so we can't practice yet, but there is much theory to learn anyway.

Please pray for the president of Finland who will make a phone call to Putin tomorrow! (Last week he visited the White House). As I shared earlier, president Niinistö might be the head of a state that has had the most frequent meetings with Mr Putin. One of the reasons for that might be that Finland is a buffer state between Russia and the West. We have had no other choice than to understand Russia, and to have a dialogue with them... This has been critizised by some Swedes, but these days Sweden is turning to Finland for advice and help.
