Wonderful sermon from a faithful and ardent man of God serving in a dark land.

Are the things of this world more important than the pleasure of the Lord? How many will continue lining the financial coffers of companies that choose to align themselves with Noah's generational disdain for God's good patterns? The very symbol of modern "Pride" is God's reminder to us of judgement (and mercy)... as if their personified use of "pride" was not enough definitive proof.

“Precious souls sometimes fight tremendous battles in order to attain to righteousness in trying places. Perhaps the heart has become wrong in some matter where temptation has been allowed to overcome, or at least to turn it aside from its singleness unto God; and the conflict is a terrible one as it seeks to adjust itself and be right with God, and finds itself baffled by its own spiritual foes, and its own helplessness, perplexity and perversity. How dark and dreary the struggle, and how helpless and ineffectual it often seems at such times! It is almost sure to strive in the spirit of the law, and the result always is condemnation and failure.

Every disobedience is met by a blow of wrath, and discouragement, and it well nigh sinks to despair. Oh, if the tempted and struggling one could only understand or remember what perhaps he has learned before, that Christ is our righteousness, and that it is not by law but by grace alone. That is the secret of the whole battle.”

If Prep... aside from ammo, what?

“Christ sends us to serve Him, not in our own strength, but in His resources and might. “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath prepared that we should walk in them.” We do not have to prepare them; but to wear them as garments, made to order for every occasion of our life. We must receive them by faith and go forth in His work, believing that He is with us, and in us, as our all sufficiency for wisdom, faith, love, prayer, power, and every grace and gift that our work requires. In this work of faith we shall have to feel weak and helpless, and even have little consciousness of power. But if we believe and go forward, He will be the power and send the fruits.

...Let us learn to work by faith as well as walk by faith, then we shall receive even the end of our faith, the salvation of precious souls, and our lives will bear fruit which shall be manifest throughout all eternity.”

“I press on, if so be that I may apprehend that for which also I was apprehended by Christ Jesus. Phi 3:12

No master has so many servants as our Master; and for each He has a suitable employment. Even the little maid was at hand to testify to Naaman in his need. Many of us murmur against the position God has given us. We want to do this, but God puts us into that. We have an ambition to serve Him here, but His plan for us lies elsewhere. When faced by such apparent reverses, it is well to remember that God’s purpose for us goes back before our conversion, for His foreknowledge has determined our circumstances even before we were born. God never does a thing suddenly; He has always prepared long, long before. So there is nothing to murmur about, nothing to be proud of, in the calling of God. There is also no one of whom to be jealous, for other people’s advantages have nothing to do with us. When we look back over life, we bow and acknowledge that all was prepared by God.”

Question for everyone... After Apple banned Parler I've been reconsidering my studio setup, which has been Mac based for many years. Though I try to somewhat stay with a tech direction that seems to be the most honoring to the Lord it has basically become a "meat sacrificed to idols" scenario so my question really is more along the lines of freedom of the OS. As a software engineer I'm saavy on both systems, but have quite a bit of $$$ tied into the Apple framework and Applications I use. So my question is really, is there a better choice in light of the censorship and technical overreach we may see more of in the future? Thanks for your thoughts!

“What things soever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven....” Mat 18:18

“These are precious words. Here heaven is measured by earth, for there is always more power in heaven than the measure of our asking; there is always more to be loosed or bound in heaven than we ask down here. Why do we seek deliverance from sin? Why are we always crying to God for enduement with power? To pray “Thy will be done in me” is a good beginning no doubt, but we must go on to “Thy will be done on earth.” The children of God today are taken up with far too small things, whereas their prayer is intended for the release of heaven’s mighty acts. Prayer for myself or my own immediate concerns must lead on to prayer for the Kingdom. In this the church should be heaven’s outlet, the channel of release for heaven’s power, the medium of accomplishment of God’s purpose. Many things have accumulated in heaven because God has not yet found His outlet on earth; the church has not yet prayed.”

“Concerning the work of my hands, command ye me.” Isaiah 45:11

“Here in time, God is not free. He does not move His children about like pawns on a board but has limited Himself to their free choice. Wittingly He has done this, knowing what it will bring Him in the end. In eternity past God was unlimited; there was no second will. Again in eternity future He will be unlimited, for love will have conquered, and man’s freewill will be one with His. That is His glory. But now, in time, God has limited Himself. Only as men of freewill are with Him today can He accomplish His purpose. And freewill means I can obey or not, as I choose. It is as though God had put at our disposal a locomotive of immense power, and we were told to lay the track. The power is there, and the destination is planned, but the engine does not control the rails. It is the rails that have power to limit the engine. “Ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” How great is our responsibility!”

“The Lord IS my shepherd.” Not was, not may be, nor will be. . . is my shepherd on Sunday, is on Monday, and is through every day of the week; is in January, is in December, and every month of the year, is at home, and is in China; is in peace, and is in war; in abundance, and in penury.“. - Hudson Taylor
