@danielgray All #sickness has its origin in the spiritual realm. Blessing also has its root in the spiritual realm Eph. 1:3. Spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, will, financial, and relational sicknesses exists. The spirit of a person searches out where the sickness may come from e.g. Ps. 42. It is the person's spirit which located the problem in the person's soul and gave the person the advice to hope in God. In the verse you mentioned we observe the role of a person's spirit in physical health -part b of the verse. Part a of the verse discusses the role of the soul (heart/emotions) in health. Elsewhere we learn to take heed to our spirit (Malachi 2) and keep our spirit blameless (1 Thess. 5). So our spirit has numerous roles-one is good health.
