Andy B 2 minute Video, Roundabouts, Judging and Waiting, S3, E23

Returning home after a mountain bike ride, Andy B approached a roundabout. We love these in the UK (it seems). Simply put, you come to a junction, with a circle in the middle. You give way to the right, and proceed carefully.

But they’re super simple to use! Indicate on your approach, and as long as nothing comes from your right, you have right of way (and of course, the British drive on the correct side of the road – the left – hence giving way to the right!

@Berrybunchfamily in the great metropolis of Sterling,Illinois, we have a new roundabout.

@Kruselady funny story

I acted as navigator to some US Christian sports people. One of them said he knew how to drive a stick shift, so became the designated driver for the minibus. I was just the navigator

I soon forgot he'd never driven on the left before, until we came to a roundabout

In fairness, it was a roundabout with a huge building in the middle

He didn't slow down on approach, and carried on

He noticed I'd gone silent and pale....I eventually recovered to ask him if he'd been taught how to use a roundabout...he said he'd never heard of one, what was it?

So I had to give a quick lesson on why we don't enter busy roundabouts at 50 MPH in the UK

I laugh now...I didn't then

He was lovely about it though :-)

Great bunch of people

@Kruselady Google The magic roundabout (a series of road junctions in the UK, not the TV show)

@Berrybunchfamily the video I watched was crazy. I like are Illinois roads fine

@Berrybunchfamily @Kruselady when the first roundabout was put in our town ppl didn't know how to use the and drove over the top like it was an opportunity to have a little off road driving in town. It was hilarious.
