@Chidiotamiri True love for God...trusting His goodness toward us and that He will not withold anything that is actually good for us is also very important. If He says it is wrong, this is because it is actually wrong and does not lead to life! Trying in our own effort to fight temptation seems like a losing battle, but the fear of God and looking to His grace (which is promised), trusting His goodness, truly LOVING what He loves and HATING those things that are abhorred by Him will help in living a life of victory. What are we focusing on? Things forbidden? Or the wonder of God's goodness and His Word? Temptations from the enemy are lies. If we are convinced of even the most tempting delicacy being laced with poison, will we desire to consume it? Jesus was tempted. Temptations can be strong. I believe fighting the counterfits offered by the enemy has a lot to do with understanding that they are indeed counterfits and laced with poison. Then, clinging even more closely to what is real.
