The Holy Spirit's principal ministry is to get the word of God into our spirits. Satan's main target is to stop the word of God from getting into our spirits.
@sarikorpi exactly! The word of God changes us from the inside out. This begins when the word of God has first been deposited in our hearts. This is the principal ministry of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Remember the parable of the sower where the field symbolizes the human heart into which the seed of the word of God needs to be sown. The word of God needs likewise to "become flesh" in our lives, so that it no longer is something we just know, but it totally changes us from the inside out, and this is the work of the Holy Spirit.
