"In reality, however, the image of Christ is the fulfillment of the deepest hungers of the human heart for wholeness. The greatest thirst of our being is for fulfillment in Christ's image. The most profound yearning of the human spirit, which we try to fill with all sorts of inadequate substitutes, is the yearning for our completeness in the image of Christ. -Invitation to a Journey by M. Robert Mullholland Jr.
@Jhayward I appreciate the words you shared. Many put the emphasis on part 1: Christ is the fulfillment of the deepest hungers of the human heart for wholeness. BUT, many do not get the second part: The greatest THIRST of our being (after salvation) if for the fulfillment in Christ's image. That's why so many are unsatisfied after salvation and wander back to a 'cleaned-up' version of their old lives. True fulfillment won't be satisfied until we are living the image of the Saviour.
