I think you don't understand the difference between the purpose of the Old Testament in light of the New Testament, Fred. The Old was incomplete for man and the Lord knew that it would be but He set it such to show that. The New Testament was spoke at the heels of Eve's sin. That was ultimately what the Lord knew we would have to have. The old - break it in one point and you break it all. ALL. New T is mercy, grace with the enabling power Spirit of Christ.
The law is good. It is our schoolmaster to bring us to the point of revealing our sin. But, the law can not redeem. If it could we would not have had to have Christ come to earth for the atonement He made. The law is the fore-shadowing of Christ. Christ's atonement and the indwelling of His Spirit through the means of the Holy Spirit gives us a greater means of sanctification. Heb 8:13 with chapter 9. There is a purpose of the Old law, but a better one motivated by love.
If you can't eat with a pure conscious, then don't, but neither are we to judge our neighbor. For example I take addictive or altering products including herbs of any kind including caffeine. Paul instructed Timothy to take a tiny-bit for his stomach's sake and for the often ailments Timothy had. I choose NONE. (Have lot of alcoholics in the family and seen too many too easily addicted on '1/2 cup' a day.)
The worse floods in over 40 years are smashing China right now.

I would like to share John 16:13. I try to morning devotions for my special needs daughter and myself after breakfast. I usually read a portion of Scripture but not uncommonly a sequential chapter of the New Testament. I was reading John 16 the other day and verse 13 jumped out to me: the Father & Jesus 'He will shew you things to come.' The God I serve is powerful & active.
We are seeing things happen in this world I have seen either very little or not at all in my 63 years of life. But, even before I was a Christian, and certainly after, I knew I would see the day that would be a turning of events to harder times. It's both exciting...and sobering to see His hand. And, I think this next year will even be more eventful. Turn our eyes upon Jesus, and look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim...
My last post is from December 2019. It has been almost 6 months. So much has happened. I stopped writing here because there wasn't much activity. Since I left I have now reclosed my Facebook page because of various reasons. One was the repeated blocking of Christian content on others accounts that posted on my page as friends. Also, that they had new standards coming out that was going to be stricture than current. I also closed down my website.
Is anyone out there tonight?
