The law is good. It is our schoolmaster to bring us to the point of revealing our sin. But, the law can not redeem. If it could we would not have had to have Christ come to earth for the atonement He made. The law is the fore-shadowing of Christ. Christ's atonement and the indwelling of His Spirit through the means of the Holy Spirit gives us a greater means of sanctification. Heb 8:13 with chapter 9. There is a purpose of the Old law, but a better one motivated by love.
@KarMarJo57 How can we not do those things that are the very nature of our creator and say we are still made in his image? We can't can we see some young man who looks like his father and every one says he looks and acts like his father, then he changes and quits having the mannerisms of his father, can we now say he acts like or sometimes even looks like his father?
@KarMarJo57 good post. I heard an old interview with Ravi Zacharias that I liked where he said, "The law is like a mirror. It shows me who I am. It reveals my reflection, but it can't change me. For that I need Christ." Without the law I cannot see that I am lost. Without Christ I cannot change.
@sinbach @KarMarJo57 wow yes! Ravi was always on point 👌🏻
@mariapombo @KarMarJo57 yes he was. he was a real treasure. I learned so much from him
@KarMarJo57 Good point. The law is our school master but just the same, when you go through school and learn, do you get out of school in your later years and no longer continue learning or even stop using what you have learned such as reading, math, spelling, History, etc? No, you still use it. I do agree that the law cannot redeem us, thus the need for Christ. But it is the instructions on how to live.
