I'm #fighting #against #worldliness again. What is so clear to the mind is so hard for the flesh...
Any sincere prayers are highly appreciated. May God bless you!
@erdenpilger I pray our Father in heaven strengthen you and to be obedient to His calling on your life! The sparkling things of this world will soon tarnish and fade away!
@erdenpilger What has helped me to overcome the love for the world is to realize the truth that Jesus said in John 17:14 that we are not of the world even as Jesus is not of the world. The old man has been crucified with Christ (Romans 6:6) and being born again (John 3:3) we are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). If this is true in you then you have the power by the Spirit to love not the world (1 John 2:15). It is a matter of spiritual exercise (Romans 8:13).
@erdenpilger @richardafaherty Yes, my friend, I think we need always to realize our identity in Christ, for apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). It is impossible to live the Christian life apart from Christ, for the Christian life is “no longer I, but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). The more we realize this the more we will see the necessity to abide in Him (John 15). So daily in my prayer life I realize that it is of God that I am in Christ (1 Corinthians 1:30) and my duty to abide there by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. May the Lord bless us with this realization always.
Thank you kindly, @richardafaherty @LiveChrist for your prayers and encouragement, also everyone who did it without posting. While I fear that '#VanityFair' won't stop sparkling anytime soon, there's a brighter light shining up ahead.
We need to get reminded of our #identity in Christ every once in a while, else we forget. TY
