Sausage - the Finnish national vegetable. They say. 😀

@tanjaostman sorry. Makkara is the only word I know for food in Finland! haha. You lost me with the rest. I know Makkara and Karelian Piirakka. My wife's grandmother was from Karelia - so karelian piirakka are a HUGE deal - only second place to makkara.

@sinbach great! We eat piirakka almost every week! They are so typical Finnish... I just wrote "good! You know Finnish!" And you spell the two important Finnish words totally correct! Bravo! 😀

@tanjaostman I am jealous of the spelling in the Finnish language. If you can say it - you can spell it. Everything is spelled exactly as you say it - unlike English and Swedish.
I LOVE warm piirakka with egg butter, butter, and hushållsost. my wife and wife's father ONLY have them homemade, so they make hundreds of them for xmas. this is one batch from last xmas.

@sinbach wow! Ibet they are delicious! Her family is more Finnish than I... We "Swedish Finns" don't know how to bake them. You are so right regarding the spelling. It's called shallow orthography... I've learned. Never been a problem to me, even if I struggled with the language in school.
