Meet officer Dan Bessant. Most people do not know that just before I moved to China 20 years ago, I worked for 1 year for the police department in San Marcos California. I worked the graveyard shift every night and this was my partner. Not long after I left for the mission field, Dan was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop by a gang member going through initiation. He left behind a wife and a new born baby son. We are seeing things happen in this world I have seen either very little or not at all in my 63 years of life. But, even before I was a Christian, and certainly after, I knew I would see the day that would be a turning of events to harder times. It's both exciting...and sobering to see His hand. And, I think this next year will even be more eventful. Turn our eyes upon Jesus, and look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim...
