My wife is in Zurich Switzerland right now and says that she can't eat at McDonald's without showing her papers.

@sinbach that's insane! So a mouth diaper is not enough?! I wonder if that's common in restaurants in Zurich... or if unvaccinated have to avoid restaurants. In France and several other countries they have rigorous rules.

In about one week we will hear the descisions from the Finnish government about covid passports. I'm a little nervous, since I'm not vaccinated (nor my husband or son). Let's see if we have to move to Sweden or Denmark. 😉 We all have social security numbers in Sweden (Edvin was born there) and it'sas easy to move there as within Finland. But I wouldn't like to move there as long as E is in school, because the school system is far, far better here. It's quite a disaster in Sweden right now, to be honest.

@tanjaostman Minna said that the officials were handing out masks at the board gate in Stockholm because so many people had arrived at airport and went through security without mask.
I understand your evaluation of the Swedish education system and agree that Finland is among the best in the world, but I can tell you that it is mainly the large Swedish cities that are messed up.
Livet's Ord in Uppsala for instance has an amazing private school that is churning out AMAZING students and there are many more like it. Sweden has wanted to shut down private Christian schools, but can't because they perform so well. My wife has 3 cousins that have 13 children among them (yes! 13!) and they all go to Livet's Ord. Ebba Busch Thor, the leader of the Christian Democrat Party is a grad from there and shows herself to be an extremely bright and capable politician - one of the most gifted in Sweden today.
I say that to say - not all is lost if you move to sweden. 😁

@sinbach my impression is that very few wear masks in Swe. Freedom of choice! Yes you are right regarding private, Chr schools in Swe. There are some other private schools with great reputation as well, like The International English school and Deutsche Schule in St:holm, and Gripsholmsskolan (with a Finnish system). They have homework, and the students listen to and respect the teachers. I have high respect for LO school! It’s such an irony that the church has been so slandered by media, and that they want to shut down private schools. I visited the school as I attended a school conference in 2007, when I worked in a school in Stockholm – and was impressed. I am impressed by Ebba as well. She became a leader at a very young age! There are many strong Swedish women. They have such a great heritage in that country! Maybe you would call it a Gospel privilege. That’s why their throwing away of blessings in form of atheism and third wave feminism and other ideologies upset me.
