I'm so proud of our Finnish hockey boys (called the Lions) who won the World Championship! Again, a small country (5,5 million people), with not as much money as Canada and the US to train young players.
1. FIN 🇫🇮
2. CAN 🇨🇦
3. CZE 🇨🇿
4. USA 🇺🇸

Biking in our neighborhood before rain, and before the World Championship final ice hockey match against Canada that starts in an hour. This is the most beautiful time of the year when nature is bursting with flowers and colors. The fruit trees haven't blossomed yet. (The windmill is from 1809, and the red buildings are maybe 100 years or older... We have many uninhabited houses in our village, but they are not allowed to be teared down because they are protected).

Finland 🇫🇮 just won over the USA 🇺🇸 in the semi final in Ice Hockey World Championship. Tomorrow we will play in the final match, and the USA will fight for bronze. In a few hours it will be finalized which team will play against Canada 🇨🇦 and which team will play against Czech Republic 🇨🇿. This is so exciting, since ice hockey is maybe the biggest sport in our country!

It seems like the price is getting crazy in Finland. This is euro per litre. I have no idea what it is in USD per gallon (I don't have time to google and calculate right now). 😁 Somebody wrote our gas prices are the double of the US. I don't know if it's true. How much where you live?

Resting after work and dinner on our deck this beautiful evening. Still fully clothed, because it's not warm yet. I love our garden, and would miss it more than the house if we would move.

Finland's president Sauli Niinistö and his wife Jenni are visiting Sweden right now, meeting the royal family King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and their spouses.

There are 187,888 lakes in Finland larger than 5 acres (500 square metres / 5,382 sq.ft.).

We went shopping today and didn't notice any panic in our city today. 😅 We live our lives as usual - what else could we do? But of course it's not fun to neighbor Russia, and the last two months Finns have been worried, and Russia, Ukraine, NATO, and our defense is the main topics on news every day. Some days I wake up with anxiety. Finland (and Sweden will probably follow suit) will apply for NATO membership, and Russia has made clear that it won't be without consequences. Our president Sauli Niinistö made a phone call to Mr Putin today. He is probably the head of a state who has talked to Putin the most. Putin didn't express any direct threat today, but said it will affect our relationship. (Finland has been a neutral buffer state between Russia and West ever since after WW2. When we join NATO those neutral days are gone, and we become an enemy). Please pray for Finland, and our president, who has a key position because of his relation with Putin! Niinistö and his wife are Christian.

I don't know why I come to think of my husband... 😀 Not any emotional roller coaster as for me.

Easier said than done, but it was encouraging for me to read this.
