This is a sometimes hushed-up, but VERY ordinary theme.
For one who has heard many such stories here in Norway too (and actually been "babysitting" one such couple's child) and also been the colleague of people++ I can say that it is as much another side to such stories, and has to do with the pressure for the father, husband, also wife/etc. & anger management for the person-in-question-turned-abuser", himself (also her) living through intense pressure at times. We've all been there. Management is another thing. In the "city & home" "house church dynamics" even, of the "where do you spend your energy, where do you get the energy", it is a LIFE issue, actually.
Like the 18-1900s Missionaries to China said, pastoring & mission work CAN be a very thankless task. Hence -> need for support, take turns, simple but ancient wisdom that needs to be seen in a complete picture.
