⚠️Danger⚠️ Phone on Plane
10 years ago, we were ALL told to turn off our phones and laptops because it messed with the flight navigation system. As a pilot, I knew that it wasn't true, BUT we all followed the rules anyway.
FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS.
Now, many years later, we are told that we can indeed have our phones in use during flight. It was NEVER a danger. Common sense told us that it was never a danger, but we all conformed -
FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS.
Today we are told to have our phones in flight mode during take off and landing - as if that makes a difference.
Again - we all kind of know it isn't true - but we do it anyway
FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS.
We like to scold the guy still checking his email right before take off because he is putting ALL of our lives in danger. He obviously doesn't care about THE SAFETY OF OTHERS.
Like the phone on the plane, I wonder....
how long will it take before we ALL realize that WEARING A MASK IS EXACTLY THE SAME.
@tanjaostman that's good.
@sinbach As a pilot you knew all along it wasn't true. But, still people are told to use airplane mode during takeoff and landing. I have complied for years without understooding the reasons. I still don't understand. If it makes no difference at all, then what IS the actual reason for these instructions? I'm truly curious.
@Cherishingsparrows2020 the official reason is that it could interfere with the navigation instruments in the cockpit, but that's a crock. I use my phone when I am flying a plane as does EVERY pilot I know. so...to be honest I'm as lost as you as to the reason for the rules.
@sinbach Okay. Thanks. I thought maybe you'd have an inside scoop🙂
@sinbach and the same goes with the vaccine... it's not an anti-viral medication (you can still get the virus and transmit it), but is said to strengthen the immunity against severe sickness. So how can you then protect others by taking the jab? No one ever told us before that we take a vaccine to protect others.
