Here is my thought on prayer today:
In our frail humanity we can never be cautious enough in how we approach the Throne of Grace in prayer. We would do well to apply the ratio of listen (to God) twice, and speak (in prayer) once. After all we have two ears and only one mouth!
Old mother hubbard,
Ding dong bell,
Humpty dumpty,
Old Michael Finnegan,
The Grand Old Duke of York,
hey diddle the cat and the fiddle,
Little Jack Horner,
Jack Be Nimble,
Polly put the kettle on,

Do we turn up uninvited to random birthday parties? I think not or we may find ourselves arrested. So, why do many crash Christ's birthday celebrations every year with no intention of knowing the Christ of Christmas?
The Gospel is the same unchanging Truth no matter how man may try to hide it, or hide from it. There is no Salvation in anyone other than Jesus Christ!
How we need men (and women) of God today, to stand resolutely for the gospel against an evil drenched world. In bravery and faith we can move any mountain.

I’ve spent all morning working on my laptop. I plugged it in to make sure it wouldn’t go flat only to find I never actually inserted the mains plugs at the other end…
Is this what we’re like with our bibles and relationship with God - we have our bibles open, but we’re not reading them; we pray, but don’t listen – or simply use words that aren’t our own hoping they’ll be good enough?
Let’s make sure when we’re spending time with God we’re speaking and listening too, and plug into the real source of all we’ll ever need, to accomplish everything that God wants to accomplish with us.
