From St Patrick's confession: "After I arrived in Ireland, I tended sheep every day, and I prayed frequently during the day. More and more the love of God increased, and my sense of awe before God. Faith grew, and my spirit was moved, so that in one day I would pray up to one hundred times, and at night perhaps the same. I even remained in the woods and on the mountain, and I would rise to pray before dawn in snow and ice and rain. I never felt the worse for it, and I never felt lazy – as I realise now, the spirit was burning in me at that time."

Guys I can't give any details and I will not be posting this information on any other forum, but this week is really important to us at BTJ. we have Chinese pastors that have traveled to be together for the first time since the pandemic started last year. It is amazing to be with them and in prayer with them, but we need to plan the best way to support the church in China for this year. We do not want our own ideas, agendas, and thoughts to pollute what God has for us. Please pray for the leading and the guiding of the Holy Spirit during this time.

@KarlGessler I think God has given us all a desire to see things made right. The question perhaps is what is our role in this? What part are we to play as the church? What does God expect each of us to do? Or are we to wait more on God to do something that we then join?

@sinbach How do you think your military training and experience has shaped your Christian and ministry life and understanding, if you don’t mind saying?

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:3-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

@sinbach @bethany I’m not sure how well I know the history of the UK. Perhaps there they focus less on the history of a war that didn’t go their way.

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
‭‭Zephaniah‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

@KarlGessler I think they lead hard lives and should be loved like Jesus loved people. Our love should make them think there's something special about the church, people that follow Jesus.

Union with God is a song that does not die in the hearing, a flavor which does not abate in the eating, and embrace which gives delight without end. -St. Augustine

My father in law has a good sense of humor... my birthday card from my in laws.

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”

“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”

"Just hold up Jesus... Let Jesus have the pre-eminence. The more he is held up; the deeper people will get in love with him and the quicker they will drop everything else... Let us hold up Jesus, and if we do that, these antagonistic spirits will get ashamed. They will find themselves lacking." -MWE

At Lent, we remember, and this song certainly focuses us on what we are to remember and how very good it is: youtube.com/watch?v=c8GG1tPa94
