@Bschneider11 @Ashtree Yes, I see what you say and agree. This IM movement makes me think of the Catholic church that compromised to bring heathens into the religion by incorporating some of their heathen practices into the 'church'. To remain pure brides of Christ, He is the Head and calls it how it's to go. Not us. The Word is good enough. The Holy Spirit is powerful enough. Keep our eyes on Jesus and we won't lose our way.
@Bschneider11 Well said in condensed words.
@Bschneider11 I am in Mennonite culture being in a Mennonite Church. Mennonites sing in tight multi-harmony singing. If a native American got saved, would they have to sing in the Mennonite style? When with them yes, but exclusively? I don't think so. If it's not in conflict with God's values and teachings. We all live in culture. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I do know the teachings of Christ and his apostles IS CHRISTIAN. Let that be the mark.
@Bschneider11 My girlfriend says, the 'Christian' (European) has the answers, so we adjust our lifestyle to that. Cooking meat over an open firepit, isn't in conflict with God's word. So, it's ok to be culturally native. But to smug (burn sage incense on wood or clam shell) to find favor with the Creator so He will listen to our prayers, is contrary to N.T. teaching. He is our Sacrifice. No more need for it. It's left over from our journey from Noah's sons to do sacrifice to the Lord God.
@Bschneider11 I have extensive native American heritage. I have seen some of this within the Christians in native culture and reactions of those Christians NOT. There is a fine line. Do I need to be an English women with the Separatists lifestyle to be a native Christian? My girlfriend raised Mennonite says 'yes.' I say 'no'. I can have cultural nativeness, but that culture must always be conformed to the Word of God.
@Bschneider11 Since my conversion at 17, I have simply taken the Word at face value. No interruptations or tweaking, etc. This sometimes confused me when young in the faith because many evangelicals pick and choose what they take literally and what they 'interrupt.' I am now with a body of believers that simply takes the word at face value.
@Bschneider11 There's some truth in it, I think but there's something wrong in it. I know from Biblical examples of those who turned to Jesus for salvation, sometimes they left all to follow Him, sometimes Jesus told them to go back and tell others what He did. We MUST completely follow Jesus - NO compromise. Sometimes that will lead us out of the place we currently are in. This is true how I was lead from the Catholic religion because following Jesus didn't blend with their structured religion.
@Bschneider11 Facinating read. I will need to prayerfully ponder this more. A community of Muslims who follow Jesus yet remain culturally and officially Muslim.” Travis expands upon this brief definition, explaining that, “C5 believers are viewed as Muslims by the Muslim community and think of themselves as Muslims who follow Isa the Messiah.”
@messenjahofchrist Yeh, it's one more reason not to use Facebook.
@Bschneider11 Never heard of the term before 'Insider Movement'.
@sinbach They can destroy the building but not the Kingdom!!!!
@sinbach What does this mean Sinobach?
@sinbach Oh wow. Feeling like life is beginning to prepare for a world war III.
@blueheart1000 @sinbach My heart has been for the Chinese Christians for years. Interestingly enough, having had done my dna, I have a tremendous amount of Chinese roots based in my native dna. No wonder I like Chinese food! But seriously, I appreciate your statement that the Lord is holding back His full wrath because of His children in China. Truly incredible times!
@blueheart1000 @sinbach Makes one ponder the thought, doesn't it? Especially the covid ice balls!!!
@Knittinggrace Yes in the 1918 flu one doctor cured his patience just with moderate amounts of vitamin c and baking soda to alkaline the body. It is substantiated that this covid 19 virus prefers acid environment. A bit above neutral will kill it. We found blue cheese, natural penicillin, kills it effectively too. We discovered that at the end of our sickness and we feel was an answer to prayer. So Knittinggrace, the Lord has given you good answers, but some don't use wisdom.
@Knittinggrace Well some of the things you say have validity. I feel sorry for frontline workers wearing masks all day. It isn't good to rebreath stale air! You're point of quarantine and masks for the sick is very true. I agree. The hard part about this virus is....to stay away from it, it will eventually bite you. But if you get too big a bite, that could be seriously dangerous as Dr. Fauci says. Enough exposure to build immunity but protected enough to not get a BIG dose.
@Knittinggrace If the person next to you is coughing or sneezing uncovered, and you are within 6-8 feet, you ARE going to inhale some of their droplets unless you hold your breath and run away! :) We got an early version of the Covid 19. At a church dinner with a sister facing the opposite direction 8' away from us, coughing and sneezing into wipies for the most part. We had had no flus and only minor, minimal colds for about 3 years, and we were sick in 3 days for about 3 1/2 weeks.
