The first time we experience snow this season! Driving from Umeå to Piteå and Luleå in northern Sweden to visit friends. We went with a brand new ferry from Vasa (Finland) to Umeå in 3,5 hours. It's the world's most northern year round passenger ferry. It's dependent on icebreaker ships that break the ice before. This ferry is even the most environmentally friendly vessel in the world, because it's LNG-fuelled.
Thank you Sweden 🇸🇪 for not requiring any covid certificates at the border! And in addition we can pause the use of masks.

@tanjaostman I love the first snow!
@Berrybunchfamily @tanjaostman I live at 975 meter... about 3200 feet.
Do you go visit the places when they have snow? I'm also sorry all ppl left you &Jo to move on your own when things got tough! I would have stayed!! Promise!!!
@MaryMamuzich (hit enter too soon) we don't get to the places with snow. they tend to be too far away
someone described that move as like giving birth - you know it's going to be pretty traumatic and painful, but also that it'll be worth it in the end
that's the same move Peter nearly got hypothermia (the heating didn't work so we had to abandon the house and go seek a hotel for the night - the heating system needed 2 x AA batteries, I joke not! the control panel's batteries were too flat to talk to the boiler to make it switch on!)
Jo and I had to carry every box down a 30 foot, icy, snow covered drive (couldn't get the van on it)
Steven and Nathan had to then carry the boxes from the front door into the lounge - they were only 7 & 8 years old at the time
and I'd had flu the day before (2nd time ever in my life) and we'd had to call the police to deal with our previous landlord the day before too...
God was good and we got there in the end!!
we had a great 4 years there!
@Berrybunchfamily oh my gosh! What memories! Some are best when they're in the past! This is a view this morning from our bedroom... Cloudy with some fog forming. We have a lot of lakes, rivers, and creeks in the area so fog forms easily and quickly. Very good rich dirt for farming.
@MaryMamuzich W O W that's AMAZING
@Berrybunchfamily the Heavenly Father gave us such a beautiful world. What love!
@MaryMamuzich @tanjaostman thanks Mary... they were southern softies ;-)
