Acts 15:17 “that the rest of humankind may seek after the Lord, and all the nations who are called by my name...”

Since the two words are graphically similar in Hebrew square script it is likely that a copyist misread the word in his exemplar, possibly in reminiscence of the word hhlkym “walking” he had copied in 8:6.

GNT Matthew 4:16 “The people sitting in darkness have seen a great light...”

The extant Hebrew for Isaiah 9:2 reads hhlkym “walking,” while LXX manuscripts and Matthew 4:16 read kathemai “sitting” = hysbym.

In Hebrew the words for “with difficulty is delivered” have graphic similarity to the words for “is repaid on earth.” A copyist in the Hebrew text stream skipped the words for “where will appear” in a skip from aleph to the next aleph (homoioarcton). A later copyist, seeing that something was missing, and not having a pre-haplographic exemplar, repaired the missing words with “how much more.”

In the Masoretic Hebrew text stream a copyist was writing the Hebrew word for “Rejoice” and skipped by mistake in his exemplar to its next occurrence, dropping out the text in between. A Dead Sea Scroll manuscript 4QDeut(q) and the Greek LXX have the text.

Hebrews 1:6 “And again, when he brings in the firstborn into the world he says, ‘Let all the angels of God worship him.’”

Since the two words have graphic similarity (mem lamed aleph vs. mem aleph lamed) it is evident that a copyist in the MT text stream misread the word in his archetype manuscript.

MT Psalm 8:5: “you made him a little lower from God.”
LXX Psalm 8:5: “you made him a little lower than the angels.”

Hebrews 2:7: “you made him a little lower than the angels.”

The LXX reads in the above angelous “angels,” which represents Hebrew ml’ky, though a few times as ml’kym (Genesis 19:1, 15). The Masoretic Hebrew for Psalm 8:5 reads m’lhym “from God.”

The four-letter Hebrew word for “shame” which begins with a yod and ends with a shin was misread as the four-letter word “hurry,” which also begins with a yod and ends in a shin.

In the traditional Masoretic Hebrew text stream “in him” fell out from a copyist skip. The word ends in yw, and the previous word ends in yn (final n). In square script the last two letters of the words look very similar.

limoi [kai loimoi] kai

Matthew 24:7 “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines [and plagues] and earthquakes in various places.”

In the Masoretic Hebrew text stream for Genesis 11:13 a copyist skipped from the Hebrew words for “hundred years and fathered sons and daughters. And lived” to their next occurrence. This initially removed most of the information about Kenan. The Hebrew copy used for the Greek LXX translation done in the 3rd cent. B.C. was from a text stream that did not experience the copyist skip.
