The flooding in China is crazy!
It is going to impact China in many ways! Many people are missing! Many people have drowned, as most Chinese do not know how to swim. There are people crying out for help to find their loved ones! Entire Farms have been washed away! Apparently millions of livestock have drowned or been basically standing in flood waters unable to eat for days! This will once again create a lack of food! Entire crops gone! Entire livelihoods washed away! We will be looking at price increases for food here once again! At the beginning to Covid they went high but have been slowly coming back down......but this will once again change things!
Chinese Christians are banding together and helping in the most beautiful sacrificial ways! It brings me to tears as I hear reports of brothers and sisters racing to the flood frontlines to help!

These stories are unlike other defecting type stories in that the ones that live to escape North Korea live in Christ before they leave and learn to be a blessing in an environment where there are none. I encourage you to read it and be blessed for yourself.
These two books are great to read side by side. Together they give a comprehensive understanding of the sheer demonic oppression over Pyongyang and North Korea from 1910 to today. But they also help to understand what we Christians can do and should not do to help.
These are some of the most heart wrenching stories of North Korean defectors I’ve read. I’m not convinced it’s any better now than twenty years ago. In fact I know it’s harder to cross into China than ever before and harder to send money back in to loved ones still there. God is still there though and His Spirit stills revives and gives birth to new spirits even in the harshest times.
So… it’s like that. Wow. I had no idea it was like that. I find myself saying that often these days.
