My husband Johan was running half marathon today. For me it was enough just to bike 9 km (back and forth) to go and watch him. This is quite the opposite of a city marathon...😅 very few participants, and in the countryside outside of our village.
@Berrybunchfamily @StevenBerry @TakeN thanks on his behalf! Yes I have noticed that your boys are into running 🏃♂️. We have more forests than open fields in Finland, I suppose. This is a meteorite crater, that has been like a lake, filled with water. They drained it less than a century ago and have been growing crops ever since. We use to bike around it, and it's about 20 km. There are roads crossing it. If you look up Söderfjärden Finland on maps and choose satellite picture, you can see the round field (the crater). If it's not possible to copy the word (because of the letters) you can type the name of our village Sundom. You are very welcome to visit Finland and our home!
@tanjaostman @StevenBerry @TakeN
And forests :-) such peaceful and tranquil places
@tanjaostman @StevenBerry @TakeN Thanks Tanja...we don't even have passports at the moment...but will remember the offer! 🙂 we've never had the opportunity to take out boys out of the UK yet...Guernsey when Steven was a baby, but we'd love to at least take them to France (Jo's first degree was in German and French, and part of our story is her helping me to prepare do my spoken French A-Level, the night before...I wasn't very good, but she helped me not get a fail!).
If God allows it, we'll explore some more of the world 🙂
@Berrybunchfamily I see! And at the moment it's hard to plan trips, even if you would both have passports, money and time. Our son has traveled abroad several times with us, but it's so much cheaper to pay only for three persons, and in addition he has been so young so he has traveled with discounts and slept in the same hotel room. We don't plan any travel because of the world situation.
@tanjaostman I can't see us doing it......especially post covid...but I'll keep imagining :-)
@Berrybunchfamily where in the UK do you live?
@tanjaostman I've sent you a direct message 🙂
@tanjaostman that place looks very interesting on Google earth. Wow!
@Berrybunchfamily yes, it's a serene place! We love to bike, walk or run there. But it's an open place like the sea, so it's often windy.
@tanjaostman interesting
@tanjaostman good man - great effort! @StevenBerry loves his cross country running, and has got his brother - @TakeN doing it now too. :-) I keep wanting to start, but haven't run since school! Once with Jo (she lov s running too) but that was up a hill that felt like a cliff face...she was more patient with me that day than I think I deserved :-)
And what a place you live in...such beautiful scenery and views!
I went to Denmark as a boy (Legoland) and loved that area of the world...wish we could come back across the water....maybe one day, 'cos I'd love to do Sweden and Finland (I'm a fan of snow, not sun!)
