This is super interesting, informative and sobering! So much wisdom and humility in this conversation.

Please pray for the family of the killed 12-year-old, the wounded and the school affected by today's school shooting in Finland! Finland is know for its well functioning society (therefore we use to top different lists) and school system. BUT we have had a couple of terrible school shootings. Guns are not as easily accessible here as in the USA. The streets are safe, and I feel safe as a woman, children go to and from school on their own, but there is a lot of domestic violence.

The thing about Finland is that there are a lot of people who aren't doing well at all even if the society looks good on the surface - I think things have worsened because of the pandemic and Russian-Ukraine war. We have a long border with Russia, and we have an ugly history with Russia. And media is fear and war mongering every day. Some people just snap. PEOPLE NEED JESUS!

We are on our way from Vasa (Vaasa), Finland, to Umeå, Sweden, a 4 hour trip by Wasaline ferry. It's the northernmost year round passenger ferry. As you can see the ice is thick (30-50 cm close to the coast), but icebreakers keep the fairway open. In the second picture the colors represent different kinds of ice. Dark grey is the most solid and thick. Blue stands for open water. So the open water is only a fraction of the total travel distance. wasaline.com/en/

The city of Porvoo (Finnish) / Borgå (Swe.), Finland. (Unknown photographer). It means "castle river" in Swedish (its original name). It was founded ca. 1380 when Finland was a part of Sweden.

Turku castle in Turku / Åbo (Swedish), Finland. (Photographer unknown). A start was made on building the castle in about 1280. The castle served as a bastion and administrative centre in Eastland, as Finland was known during its time as a province of Sweden. Only once did the castle figure in the defence of the realm, when Russian invaders from Novgorod destroyed Turku in 1318. The castle's heyday was in the mid-16th century during the reign of Duke John of Finland and Catherine Jagellon.

The castle was the center of the historical province of Finland Proper, and the administrative center of all of Finland. Its strong walls and dungeons also served as the state prison for centuries. The castle has been the place of many historical events; in 1573–1577, for example, the deposed Swedish queen Karin Månsdotter was kept prisoner here.

The castle is Finland's most visited museum. (Source: Wikipedia)

"The 2024 elections might be the most dangerous in history because of what just took place in Munich. This might be the most important podcast that Eugene does this year. This isn’t something you’re really going to find in the news. You may find it if you read between the lines or do a little bit of research, or if you have exposure to amazing individuals who highlight the real, unseen dangers in every day life. Eugene talks about insights and revelations that were shared recently at the BTJ Hackers’ conference."

I watched this documentary with my family on Saturday. It was interesting for me as a European, even if it was about the American society and Church, because we are so strongly influenced by America.

"The film lays out the parallels between early 1930’s Nazi Germany and other totalitarian regimes with what is happening in America today and how the church has been mostly silent facing this evil.

Eric and several leading conservative voices of today, explain how cultural Marxism has taken over America, including the church." lettertotheamericanchurch.com

If I need to seek counsel from a Christian, or want to listen to good teachings, I don't look for those whose only goal is a platform and a big audience (either in real life or online). Of course there are humble servants of God who have big audiences, but it's about their focus and the state of their hearts. I've noticed that I after a whole life in the Christian world look for people that are bearers of the Lord's presence (because their minds are focused on him), that have "no names or titles". Why would a narcissistic leader, whose main goal is to make himself a name, really care about us, normal people, with compassion? Of course they can give counsel as a part of their visible ministry. I know a few Christian leaders personally that I can email/message or call when I'm in need or have questions. I know that they care for real. I don't need to be a part of the same church for them to care. These people are rare, even if it's the NT way of leading. They have real, authentic relatio

Had a great night last night in Stockholm, Sweden, with the BTJ team @sinbach @bethany and Brother Yun and his Swedish-Finnish interpreter. Many young people who responded to Yun's message.

We've lived in a lie
Ever since the formula bottle
Desensitized everything we knew
About our problems
And now we all roaming the land
Saying
How did this big lie start
It's time to put our faith in him
Cause it's gone too far
Oh I believe he died for me
And for everyone
Anything can be achieved
When you count on God
Who's gonna take the lead by putting their life on the line
Whos gonna show the children what is wrong and what is right
Who's gonna take the lead by putting their life on the line
Whos gonna show the children what is wrong and what is right
The blood of Christ washes every sin by minute
The sheep are blind all because their mind is a prison
And now their all roaming the land
Saying
How did this big lie start
It's time they put their faith in him cause it's gone too far
Oh I believe he died for me
And for everyone
Anything can be achieved
When you count on God
Who's gonna take the lead by putting their life on the line
Whos gonna show the children...

So many sources, say the same thing: the Maui fire was planned for a reason. To reset and build up a surveillance system - a smart city. It's so upsetting that they don't care about human lives.

This world is so upside down!
"Malta, in 2016, became the first European Union country to ban attempts to “change, repress or eliminate a person’s sexual orientation, gender identity and/or gender expression,” leading to fines or even jail time."

I love her voice. This is so heartbreaking 💔! I agree that we should start talking about the elephant in the room. And imprison those who are behind this horrific crime.

Isn't it funny that among the six top countries of most bicycle owners there are four Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland) - even if we have long, dark, cold winters, especially in Sweden and Finland. After I fell and hit my head in my 20s, I stopped biking on icy roads. But my son used to bike to school (appr. 2 kilometers) every day grades 1-6, as most school kids here. (Now he goes by bus to another school further away). It's safe for children to move around alone, so parents don't have to bring them to school. Nowadays there are winter tyres with spikes. But it's not only that it's slippery. It's dark, and can be deep snow and freezing cold... just more clothes and patience! 😂
