What does it mean to "Seek first the Kingdom of God" ? If you are seeking God's Kingdom first, how does it impact your day to day life? What is different about your life and focus?

@Cherishingsparrows2020 good question, I have a family, job, and many responsibilities that come with these. But I am told seek his kingdom first and righteousness and God promises that all my needs will be met. I start my day (night now on 3rd shift) with prayer scriptures, and a hymn, for this helps me be filled with the Holy Spirit. This also aids my mind and spiritual sense. I go to work and work unto the Lord without cheating, lying, gossiping, or being lazy. I also have chosen jobs that have helped my family. Sometimes I had to take a lower paying job for my family needs, but the Lord always provided what we needed. I am starting a bible study with people at work, as i was lead by the Lord. I am working at being a servant and thinking about my family needs even when I'm tired. I fall short but always come to Gods throne for forgiveness through the precious blood. I am striving to make every part of my life in line with his will according to the scriptures.

@Justinmartyr Thank you. This is a beautiful testimony! I appreciate the example of living for Jesus in the ordinary aspects of life and of God's forgiveness and grace to keep pressing on when we fall short.
May we all keep knowing and loving Jesus more and more. God bless you and your family!

I believe we are to put Christ first - above all things and ppl. I think it's a daily command as carrying our cross. The enemy works hard... and makes a lot of noise trying to take our focus off our Loving Father. Jesus is our defense!

@MaryMamuzich Thanks so much for your response! It's a real blessing to read the variety of answers. Each one gives a different perspective to think about what truly matters. I've been pondering this question a lot over the past year or so. I want to live my life building with materials that will pass the eternity test.

@Cherishingsparrows2020 This is my life verse. I cling to it because whenever I want to cry out to God for injustice, thorn in my flesh, something else I don't like, I remember that if it's causing me to worry or be anxious then I have stopped seeking Him and His Kingdom.

@lauralynn Thank you so much for your response. I've been pondering this question a lot, especially over the past year or so. I want to live for what truly matters. And yes, I want to be able to claim the promises.
